Existing soak hole
care & maintenance.
A practical first step for an obstructed or poorly maintained soakage device: review its condition, arrange suitable cleaning and reassess performance.
Discuss your projectUnderstand the obstruction before the next step.
A manhole containing sediment or debris may prevent the bore openings from being seen. Photographs, accessible inspection and previous drawings can help establish the next useful step. We assess what is visible and explain where further investigation is needed.
Coordinate cleaning and testing.
Where suitable, hydro-truck cleaning can be arranged as part of the agreed scope. Once the device is accessible, flow testing can help assess performance. Cleaning does not guarantee restoration: damaged pipes, blocked bores or unsuitable ground may need separate work.
What we can include
- Review of device photos, plans and accessible condition
- Cleaning coordination where required and agreed
- Follow-up inspection of accessible bore openings
- Flow testing and reporting where included
The final scope and inclusions are set out in your project quote.
Before we quote
Send clear photos of the device and its opening, any signs of ponding or blockage, previous plans and reports, and the access route for cleaning equipment.
Common questions
Will cleaning definitely restore the soakage capacity?
No. It may remove accumulated debris, but the result depends on bore condition, pipework and the surrounding ground. Testing after cleaning helps establish the measured performance.
Can maintenance be quoted from photos?
Photos are a useful start. The final scope may require a site assessment to establish the quantity of material, safe access and suitable equipment.
See the existing system clearly.
Accessing and cleaning a manhole can help expose the bore openings before testing. Our site work includes coordinating cleaning equipment and the next flow-testing step.

Accessing an existing manhole
Hydro equipment and hose positioned beside an open manhole.

Water truck and hose route
Water supply equipment with hoses laid out across the site.
